San Francisco to Phnom Penh
Woke up in Taipei. The only problem was that we were supposed to be in Hong Kong. Apparently there were headwinds all the way across the pacific and we'd run out of fuel. After a quick refueling stop, we were on our way again, but of course, were late arriving in Hong Kong. We made our flight to Phnom Penh, but our luggage didn't.
Cambdia (or at least Phnom Penh) is beautiful. The architectur s wonderful and a lot of the buildings are ornately decorated in the "Khmer" style (pagodas with flying things at the corners). It also seems to be a very safe city. We walked around the markets and a few alleys and didn't feel uncomfortable at all. At least not because of the locals. It is extremely hot for a Canadian who was just in Boulder, especially when his only clothes are long pants and a long sleeved shirt. However, my luggage will arrive tomorrow to remedy that.
Our first choice for a hotel was full, so our taxi driver took us to a place he liked a few blocks away. After settling in, we went out to attempt to buy some cooler clothing. I managed to buy a shirt, but shorts were out of the question. Shannon actually managd to find a pair of shoes, but it took three different women and the searching of many, many stalls to find a pair that fit.
Now we are going to go out to dinner and walk along the Mekong before dropping into bed.

Did you have deodorant in your carry-on or have you picked up some Cambodian solution?
